We do not run one. That is worth saying first, because it is what most people arrive here hoping for. So this page is the other half of the answer: every studio in Utah that does run a one-off pottery evening, what each of them really charges once the piece is paid for, and how long before anything comes home.
Monthly membership is the only way into this studio. No drop ins, no one-off classes, no ticketed evening for two. Two reasons, and both of them are about us rather than about you.
Wet clay to finished object runs through drying, a bisque firing, glazing and a glaze firing. An hour at a wheel cannot show you any of that. It can show you what a wheel feels like under your hands, which is a real thing, and a much smaller one than pottery.
This studio was built so people would know each other. That needs the same faces turning up in the same room more than once. A single ticket cannot produce it, no matter how good the evening is.
Membership is month to month with no contract. One month is $145 at Green Level, and it includes four instructed sessions of three and a half hours each. If it is not for you, that is where it ends. That is our version of trying it, and it is the only one we have.
A private party takes over the studio for three hours: $850 for up to fifteen people, then $45 a person after that, ages six and up, booked at least ten days out. It is a genuinely good night. At that price nobody should mistake it for a date for two, and we would rather say so here than in a text message later. How a private party works.
Every price, age and turnaround below was read off the studio's own website or its own booking system on 24 September 2026. Where a studio publishes nothing, this page says so rather than filling the gap. Studios move their prices, so treat this as the shape of it and check before you pay.
The cheapest confirmed one-off evening in the state, run by the arts education arm of a community arts center rather than by a pottery studio.
The lowest sticker price on this page, and the one where the sticker is furthest from the bill. Leaving with anything costs another $9.99 to $14.99, paid in the studio.
Same studio, same format, different town and a different price. Worth checking which location a booking link points at.
The fastest turnaround anybody on this page publishes, and the clearest price list. Their bowl, mug and glazing classes are $35 and open studio is $20.
Their own page gives two different hand building age floors, so ask before booking for a child.
Their open wheel at $15 an hour is not the same thing. It carries no instruction, no clay, and bisque, glaze and glaze firing are all charged separately.
Their published $50 to $65 range covers every drop in class they run. The pottery date night itself is $50 a person.
The only one-night wheel session we could confirm anywhere in eastern Utah.
The only per-couple price on this page, which makes it the cheapest real clay evening for two in Utah if you live in the city. Their page does not publish a pickup window for this class.
Not marketed as a date night, and no age floor is published anywhere on their site.
The only studio on this page that shuts out teenagers entirely. Their booking system does not say whether $60 is per person or per couple, so ask before you turn up with a number in your head.
They publish the honest warning almost nobody publishes: handmade pottery comes with no guarantees, and they are not responsible for pieces that do not survive the firing. Their $35 Mini Clay Night needs 8 people to run, so a couple cannot book it.
The price slides with headcount: $66.31 on your own, $55.28 each for two, $49.76 each for three.
They also run a scholarship program for reduced or free classes.
Their site says the studio is mid-refresh and that classes and systems are changing over the coming weeks, so check the price on the day.
Their regular pottery classes have carried a waiting list for some time, which they say plainly. The date night is the way in.
Built as a couples class from the start rather than a group class a couple can join, which shows in the eight person cap.
Nothing on their page limits it to resort guests. The most expensive evening here, and the only one where the piece arrives in the post at your expense.
Nothing matches all of those at once. Clear the search, or widen one of the filters.
Not one studio in this state hands you a fired pot at the end of a two hour class, because clay physically cannot do that. It dries, it gets bisque fired, it gets glazed, it gets fired again. The fastest turnaround anybody in Utah publishes is one week, at Pottery Night SLC. The slowest published is six weeks. Most land at three to four.
So book the evening you want to have. Do not book it as a way to produce a present by Friday.
Throw Art Studio's $29.99 buys the wheel and the instruction and specifically not the pot; keeping one costs another $9.99 to $14.99 in the room. Beehive includes a single piece and charges $10 for each extra. Bella Rosa charges $5 more to paint your own underglaze. Sundance fires your piece and posts it to you at your expense. $29.99 a wheel shared by two people and $65 a person both get written down as the price of a pottery date night. They are not close. St. George City Recreation is the only true per-couple price we could confirm anywhere in Utah. Sunstone publishes $60 without saying which of the two it is, which is worth a phone call before you turn up with a number in your head.
Sunstone is 18 and over, the only studio here that shuts teenagers out entirely. Art Haus is 14. Workshop SLC is 13 to attend alone. Bella Rosa takes 7 year olds at a hand building table and 13 year olds at a wheel. Sundance takes 7 year olds. Several studios publish no age at all. If anyone under 18 is coming, ask first rather than at the door.
One evening, two people, before anybody buys a second piece. Where a studio prices per person the figure below is doubled; where it prices per wheel or per couple it is not. That is the whole trick to reading these.

Sunstone is shown at $60 because their booking system does not say whether that is per person or per couple. If it is per person, the real figure is $120. Throw Art Studio and Beehive are shown at their entry price, which does not include every piece you make.
Paint your own studios sell you a finished bisque shape, a table, brushes and underglaze. You decorate it, they glaze and fire it, and it is ready in about a week. Nobody touches wet clay and nobody makes a form. It is the cheapest two-person pottery evening in Utah by a wide margin, and it is not the same evening as a wheel.
The pricing everywhere works the same way: a studio fee for each painter, plus the price of whatever piece you pick off the shelf. Two people painting two mid-priced mugs lands somewhere around $50 to $65 all in, which is what a single seat at a wheel class costs.

Paint Fusion in Park City runs the same format alongside glass fusing. Color Me Mine has seven Utah locations and they do not all charge the same for a piece, so the studio nearest you is the one to price.
A one-off evening is a good evening. It is not a hobby, and most couples who book one are really testing whether they want a hobby. Here is what the three ways in cost at this studio, since that is the question underneath the question.
Two potters, fully independent. A full class count each, a shelf each, any level, and you do not have to be on the same one. No discount, because it is simply two memberships. From $145 each a month.
One membership and one shelf between two people, at the price of one. Married or cohabitating couples, at Green, Yellow or Purple Level. The honest catch is that it is one membership's classes split between you rather than two, so it suits couples who get here a few times a month rather than every week.
Two full memberships that share one shelf, at twenty percent off for both of you. Purple and Black Level. A Purple Level membership is normally $200 a month each. One shelf between two people fills up faster than anyone expects, which is the trade you are making.
All three are month to month with no contract, and all three include classes, open studio time, the glaze wall and the kilns. Clay and glaze firings are charged separately, which is true here and true at most of the studios above.
No. Monthly membership is the only way in, and there are no drop ins or one-off classes. A piece of pottery takes weeks rather than an evening, and the studio was built around people seeing each other regularly. The one exception is a private party, which is three hours of the whole studio for a group rather than a table for two.
Eighteen studios across the state run a one-off evening a couple can book. The cheapest confirmed is SCERAMICS at SCERA Art Studios in Orem at $20 a person on the third Friday of the month. Workshop SLC in Salt Lake City runs one at $50 a person, Throw Art Studio in Provo shares a wheel between two for $29.99 plus the piece, and St. George City Recreation charges $50 a couple for residents.
For two people, between $40 and $150 depending on the studio and what the price includes. The cheapest real clay evening for two is $40 at SCERA in Orem. Paint your own studios such as Color Me Mine are cheaper again, around $16 in studio fees plus the price of the two pieces.
Usually, but not always, and never the same night. Most studios fire and glaze one piece for you and hold it for collection. Throw Art Studio charges $9.99 to $14.99 for each piece you keep. Beehive includes one and charges $10 for each extra. Sundance posts yours to you and charges shipping.
One week at the fastest, at Pottery Night SLC. Six weeks at the slowest, at Art Haus and Beehive Pottery Studio. Three to four weeks is normal. Clay has to dry, then be bisque fired, then glazed, then fired again, and kilns run when they are full.
It depends entirely on the studio. Sunstone Studios in North Salt Lake is 18 and over. Art Haus is 14 and over. Workshop SLC allows 13 and over to attend alone. Bella Rosa takes 7 year olds at a hand building table and 13 year olds at a wheel. Several studios publish no age at all, so ask before booking.
SCERAMICS at SCERA Art Studios in Orem, at $20 a person for a 90 to 120 minute evening on the third Friday of the month, with the firing included. It is 16 and over. Cheaper still, if painting a ready-made piece counts, is a Color Me Mine studio at $8 a painter plus the price of the piece.
It depends how often you would really go. One $50 a person evening for two is $100, which is more than a Green Level membership here for a whole month. If the honest answer is once a year, a one-off evening is the right call and this page lists eighteen of them.
A one-off pottery evening is two hours of being bad at something together, which is most of what people are really after. Nobody leaves with a finished pot, everybody leaves with muddy hands, and eighteen studios in this state will sell you one. If it turns out you both liked it, the thing that keeps it going is coming back.
