Members only · Bring a Friend Pass

Bring them once.
Then bring them back.

Your table, your clay, your tools. A first visit is $35 and every visit after that is $50, whatever your Level. If they join the same day, that day’s pass comes back to you.

First visit $35 Every visit after $50
Two passes

The price follows your guest, not your Level.

A Green Level Member and a Black Level Member pay exactly the same. What sets the price is whether your guest has made pottery here before.

Their first time

First Visit Pass

$35 per guest

For anyone who has never been a guest or a member here. A friend who has only been to a party or an event at the studio still counts as a first visit.

Every time after

Return Visit Pass

$50 per guest

For a guest who has been here before, as a guest, during a Free Week, or as a member. They can come back as often as they like, always alongside you.

If they join

The pass comes back

If your guest signs up for membership the same day they visit, we refund that day’s pass. Text us afterwards on 385-241-5528 and we’ll sort it out.

Hesitant friends have a habit of becoming members.

Coming most weeks? Every Level of membership costs less per visit than a Return Visit Pass, and comes with a shelf of their own. Compare the Levels →

1 Pick their pass

Get their pass

One pass per guest, per visit. Bringing one of each, set both.

First Visit Pass Their first time making anything here $35per guest
Return Visit Pass They have made pottery here before $50per guest
Which one is theirs. If they have made pottery here before, as a guest, a Free Week guest or a member, it’s a Return Visit Pass. If the only time was a party or an event here, it’s still a First Visit Pass.
2 Optional, but it helps us

Passes are for the month you buy them and don’t roll over. One pass covers one guest for one session. Two guests per member in the building at a time. You’ll need one class on your own before you bring anybody.

While they’re here

Your access, up to Purple.

A guest works with what your membership opens up, with a few limits that keep membership worth having.

Your clay

They work from your bag of studio clay. A returning guest can buy a bag of their own at your Level’s price and keep it on your shelf.

Your tools and glazes, up to Purple

Whatever your Level opens up, as far as Purple Level. Black Level tools and glazes stay with Black Level Members. Premium glaze and dipping up-charges are at your Level’s rate.

A spot on your shelf, not one of their own

Their work waits on your shelf with yours. You’re responsible for it, pick-up deadline included: fired work is collected within two weeks of the kiln being unloaded.

Firing at the standard price

Bisque is free. The glaze firing is 5 cents a cubic inch with a $4.80 minimum, the same as yours, and your guest pays for it.

Certified from the second visit

On a first visit, your guest works beside you under your certifications. From the second visit on, they take the same short online certifications every member takes before the glaze wall, the dipping buckets or the slab rollers.

Every studio rule

Cleanup, the commandments, all of it. The rules that apply to you apply to them, and you’re the one who knows them.

Before they turn up

Four things. Three of them take a minute.

1

Pay for their pass

Buy it above, at home or on your phone in the parking lot. Either works, as long as it’s paid before they start making something.

2

They sign the waiver

The same studio waiver every member signs. Two minutes, online. Send it before they come so it’s done, and if they forget, they can sign it at the door.

3

Tell an instructor when you get here

Walk in, say who they are, and we’ll get them set up. If a session is already full we may ask you to bring them another time, which is rare. To be certain, text us first on 385-241-5528.

4

You look after them

This is the whole deal, every visit, first or fifteenth.

While they’re here, you’re the instructor.

Your guest is yours for the session. You show them how to center, you share your clay, you put a slab mold in front of them when the wheel humbles them, and you walk them around and introduce them to the table.

Our instructors will absolutely help, but they’re running a full room and can’t adopt a beginner for the session. A guest pass buys a seat beside you, not a seat in a class. It’s also the best part. Teaching someone the thing you love is a very good way to spend a few hours.

Which sessions work

Evening classes, the Monday morning class, Friday evening open studio, and the Saturday and Sunday morning open studio times. Workshops, parties and special events are members only.

Open studio has no instructors on the floor, so on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you really are the only teacher in the building for them.

Always with you

A guest never comes on their own. Every visit is alongside the member who brought them.

And not to your own first class. That one is all tour, shelf, clay and setup, with no room in it to host anybody else.

Every two months

A first visit, free, during Free Week.

Every two months we run Bring All Your Friends Free Week. Anyone who has never been here comes free, to any class or open studio that week.

  • Free for brand new people, once each. A friend who has been here before comes back on a Return Visit Pass.
  • Bring as many as you like that week. Every one of them is yours to look after.
  • The waiver, your first class on your own, and every studio rule still apply.

Next Free Week too far off, and your friend is free on Thursday. Take them Thursday on a First Visit Pass.

Before you text us

The questions we get asked.

What does it cost?

A First Visit Pass is $35. Every visit after that is a Return Visit Pass at $50. The price is the same at every Level.

Which pass do I buy?

A First Visit Pass if your guest has never made pottery here, as a guest, a Free Week guest or a member. A party or an event at the studio doesn’t count, so those guests still get a First Visit Pass. Everyone else gets a Return Visit Pass.

Can the same friend keep coming back?

Yes, as often as they like, on a Return Visit Pass each time and always with you.

If they’re coming most weeks, every Level of membership works out cheaper per visit than a Return Visit Pass, and comes with a shelf and class days of their own. Compare the Levels →

Can my guest come without me?

No. A guest always comes with the member who brought them, every visit.

Can I bring two people?

Two at a time is the maximum. Buy a pass for each of them, and tell an instructor when you arrive so we know the numbers.

Two beginners is a lot of teaching for one person in one session. Two works best when they already know each other and are happy sharing your table.

What if they want to join?

They can sign up that same day, and we’ll refund that day’s pass. Text us afterwards on 385-241-5528 and we’ll take care of it.

Send them the membership page →

What can my guest use?

Your clay, and the tools and glazes your Level opens up, as far as Purple Level. Black Level tools and glazes are for Black Level Members only. Premium glaze and dipping up-charges are at your Level’s rate. They can throw on a wheel, sit at the hand building tables, press a slab mold, or move between all three.

Do they need to get certified?

Not on a first visit. They work beside you under your certifications. From the second visit on, they take the same short online certifications every member takes before using the glaze wall, the dipping buckets or the slab rollers.

Do they take home what they make?

Their call on the day. They can carry it home wet, or leave it on your shelf to dry and go through the kilns. Bisque is free, and your guest pays for the glaze firing at the standard price. While it sits on your shelf it’s yours to look after, pick-up deadline included.

Nothing gets finished in one session. Pottery dries for days or weeks, gets bisque fired, glazed, then fired again. Plan on a couple of months before a finished piece exists.

What should they bring and wear?

Clothes they don’t mind getting clay on, fingernails cut short, and their own apron and a towel. Clay washes out of most things, but it will find them.

Do they need to sign anything?

Yes, the same studio waiver every member signs. Best done before they arrive. The door is fine if they forget. Send them the waiver →

Which sessions can they come to?

Evening classes, the Monday morning class, and the Friday, Saturday and Sunday open studio times. Workshops, parties and special events are members only. And not your own very first class, which is all tour and setup.

How old do guests have to be?

Same rule as membership: 18 or older, or 14 to 17 alongside their own parent or guardian, and that parent or guardian has to be the member bringing them.

Do passes expire?

Yes. Use them in the month you buy them. They don’t carry over, so buy them for sessions you’ve actually got planned.
