HOW MANY DAYS DO I GET EACH MONTH WITH MY MEMBERSHIP?
Welcome to The Clay Hole!
You're one of us now! But first things first, we need you to sign the waiver before you can come to your first class. Please do that here:
We want to keep you, us, and everyone safe at The Clay Hole. Click on the button above to sign the waiver.
PLEASE TEXT US AND LET US KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GONNA COME THE FIRST TIME. It's important you're on time your first day.
We've got the following open studio class times that you can join us. At The Clay Hole, you get to choose when you come, how frequently you come, and how much access you want at the studio. This is all chosen via your membership level.
COME WHENEVER IT WORKS FOR YOU:
Mondays: 10:30AM-2PM, 6:30PM-10PM
Tuesdays: 6:30PM-10PM
Wednesdays: 6:30PM-10PM
Thursdays: 6:30PM-10PM
Fridays: 6:30PM-10PM
We also have open studio times on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but you must come to a class with instructors at least twice before attending open studio.
Please note you should not arrive more than 15 minutes early and you'll need to be cleaned-up and exited by the time listed. There will usually be a 30 minute heads-up given to help you manage your time.

We want to get you playing with mud as quickly as possible on your first day, and this video will let us jump in together up to an hour quicker. All members are required to watch it before coming to class. Ignore the part that mentions being unable to come to your first class.
Please note there's a secret password you'll need to tell us that you'll find inside the video.
Since you signed-up for green level, that means you need to bring all your own pottery tools. This includes basic tools and sponges. This is a cheap and basic tool set that you can order to get started: TAKE ME TO AMAZON
Don't want to hastle with tool shopping or what to bring? You can always upgrade your membership now before classes start (or anytime after). Click here to upgrade to a higher level.
Aprons are optional and not included in any membership. Get any pottery apron you like. Our favorite (after testing 10+ aprons) can be found here: TAKE ME TO AMAZON
Please note, our instructors give full first-time pottery wheel lessons to members who are on time to classes only. We cannot start lessons mid-class.
All members who want to throw on the pottery wheel must watch this video in its entirety before they can hop on a pottery wheel. If you already know how to throw on the wheel, it is not required:
All members who want to use our dozens of beautiful pottery molds or the slab rollers must watch this video in its entirety before they can use our molds:
CLEAN-UP: All members must clean up their own work areas PLUS another area of the studio that needs attention. We all get the studio dirty together, we all need to keep it clean together.
INSTRUCTORS: You'll find them in purple "Clay Hole" t-shirts. We will have a main instructor in every class for both the pottery wheel side and the hand-building side. We will also usually have a secondary instructor on each side who is helping backup the main instructor when they get too busy. Please utilize our instructors freely, and also remember that they need to share their efforts with all the members of class.
CLAY: Every student is required to buy clay from the studio. We’ll go over this in class and you’ll buy your first bag. Clay comes in 25 lb bags. A mug takes about 1 lb of clay. Outside clay can destroy our kilns and is forbidden.
FIRST DAY: We will hand out some important things you'll need, do a quick studio tour, assign pottery shelves, buy clay, and set you free on whichever side you’re most interested in working. You’ll have plenty of time to play with clay on your first day in class.
Open studio time is available every Saturday and Sunday morning from 10 AM to 1:30 PM.
During open studio, you can come work on whatever you like, but there are no instructors available to help you learn like there are in all of our classes. Because of this, you may not attend open studio until you have been to class at least twice so that you know the layout of the studio, studio rules, cleanup procedures, etc.
Open studio time counts as one of your classes, and is a great and laid back way to make new friends, hangout with cool people, and really dive into whatever project you're working on.
