Legendary paper templates

World monuments in clay, about 42 inches tall

Real landmarks at their true proportions, built from printed slab patterns. Each one is far too big for a kiln in one piece, so it comes apart into sections that each fit a kiln, fire on their own, and join for good after the last firing. This is the Legendary level, the one above Insane.

How a Legendary build works

Weeks at the table, a kiln for each section, and one last afternoon with epoxy

Sections that fit a kiln

Every section fits a kiln at least 28 in across and 27 in deep inside, such as a Skutt KM-1227, measured at the wet size with room to spare. Each one stays under 35 lb wet.

A real guide, not a cheat sheet

Tools and materials, clay, every section step by step, keeping clay workable for weeks, drying in a dry, average or humid room, joints, firing, glazing and assembly. Every pattern prints on Letter pages or on large sheets at a copy shop.

Recognizable before you carve a thing

The patterns alone read as the landmark from across a room. The carving, sprigs and fine ornament are yours to add, and every guide has a page of ideas for them.

Questions

World monument templates, the questions that come up

Is there a bundle

No. Every Legendary template is sold on its own and is never part of any bundle.

Do members get them free

Yes. Current members pick five templates free every month, and a Legendary one uses five of those picks. The fine print below has the rest.

Which clay

One grogged stoneware that fires between cone 5 and cone 6, the same clay for every section. Each guide gives the pounds and the number of 25 lb bags.

Where are the smaller templates

On the pottery paper templates page, from a 30 minute ring dish up to the Insane builds.
