Clocks collection, 30 percent off
Both clock templates in one order
BETA: these templates are still being tested
We test every paper template by building it. A template carries the BETA mark until it has been built and confirmed. Each should be sound and work as drawn. We will know for certain once someone makes it.
Use them at your own discretion, and be ready to adjust on the fly if a project needs it. Pivoting mid-build is part of the fun of pottery.
Made one? Show us. Text it to The Clay Hole or tag @theclayhole on Instagram. Every template that gets built and confirmed leaves BETA.
An arch-topped mantel clock and a 14 inch wall clock with raised clay numbers. The shaft hole and the hour marks are on the pattern, placed at wet size, so a standard quartz movement fits the fired face.
This is the bundle for the Ceramic Clock Templates collection, where each template has its own card and a guide to what the set takes.
- 2 templates
- Advanced to Expert
- 18 pages
- 6 template sheets
The bundle grows with the collection. Every new clock template, and every update to one already in it, joins the downloads from your order at no charge.
Delivered as download links by email the moment the order goes through. Every clock template we add later, and every update to one already in it, joins those downloads free. A member: log in instead and every template is free.
- 30 percent off what the two cost one at a time ($32 bought separately).
- Every template at once: all 46 for $308.50.
- Not a member yet: see what a membership includes.
Two clock templates, each on its own page
Each one opens with its steps, its finished sizes and a free sample to flip through. Sizes below are what comes out of the glaze kiln at 12 percent shrinkage. New clock templates appear here the day they go live.
Paper template 12, advanced
The Mantel Clock
An arch-topped mantel clock with the shaft hole and the twelve hour marks on the template, built around a standard quartz movement.
face 5 1/4 in wide, 5 1/2 in tall, 2 3/16 in deep on its base
2 sheets, 7 pages$12 on its own
Paper template 20, expert
The Wall Clock
A 14 inch wall clock with raised clay numbers that floats off the wall.
a 14 in face standing about 1 3/16 in off the wall
4 sheets, 11 pages$20 on its own
Print, check, roll, cut, build
Print at 100 percent
Actual size, never Fit to page. Plain copy paper works. Card stock survives a wet slab and can be used again.
Measure the square
Every sheet carries a 1 inch square. A ruler on it settles whether the print is right before any clay is cut.
Roll the slab
Each pack names its slab thickness on the cover. Let the slab firm up to soft leather hard, so it holds an edge and still bends.
Cut the count, then build
Lay the paper on the slab, cut straight down just outside the edge, bevel where the hatching says, and follow the numbered steps. Score, slip, press, compress, every seam.

What is in the bundle
Both clock templates on this page, $22.40 instead of $32. One PDF per template arrives by email the moment the order goes through, each one the whole pack: the template sheets, the steps, the notes and the size table.
What happens when a new clock template comes out
It joins this collection and your downloads at no charge. The same goes for an update to any template already in it. You pay once, today's price, and the collection keeps growing for you.
Can I buy just one
Yes. Each template here has its own page at $12 to $20. The bundle is the two together for 30 percent less.
Do I need a membership to buy these
No. The bundle is $22.40 for anyone. Every template is free for members logged in to a Clay Hole account, so a member has nothing to buy.
Can I sell what I make
Yes. The pots are yours. The template files are for your own use and are not to be shared, which is the whole of the terms.
Every template, free, every time
46 templates now and more as they are drawn, all free for members logged in to a Clay Hole account. Print one tonight and bring it to your next session.
