We are sending summer out with one awesome party. Join us Friday, August 7th for a members-only night packed with a proper potluck, BYOB, pottery, ridiculous games/contests, and a massive raffle with up to $2,000 in prizes. Bring your favorite dish or dessert, bring a plus-one, and come celebrate the incredible community that makes The Clay Hole so much bigger than pottery.

This is not a “grab a bag of chips on the way over” kind of potluck. Bring a favorite dish or dessert you genuinely love making, make enough to share, and do it up right.
Please bring any serving utensils your dish needs. We’ll provide disposable plates, bowls, cups, napkins, utensils, and plenty of ice water, but all other food and drinks are coming from the community. Half the fun of a real potluck is trying what everyone brings, swapping recipes, and using food as one more excuse to sit down and get to know each other.

Throw, sculpt, sabotage, and meet your people
We’ve got games planned for every corner of the studio, and you do not need to be an expert potter to have a fighting chance.
On the wheel side, we’ll play Don’t Let It Fail, our pottery version of musical chairs where you inherit someone else’s piece, try to keep it alive, and quietly make life harder for whoever sits down next. Lose the pot and you’re out. Last potter standing wins.
On the hand-building side, we’ll play Claytionary, where you’ll have two minutes or less to sculpt whatever is on your card while everyone else tries to guess it.
We’ll also play a studio-wide people bingo game designed to get you talking, laughing, and discovering all the weird, wonderful things you have in common with your fellow members.
Every game is optional, beginners and seasoned potters are equally welcome, and prizes will be awarded throughout the night.
A truly epic raffle...
Up to $2,000 in prizes. One very unpredictable mystery card.
You’ll be able to earn raffle tickets just by showing up, bringing a dish, joining games, winning challenges, and through plenty of surprise giveaways leading up to and during the party. Bring every ticket you’ve already earned, because there is no limit to how many you can enter or how many prizes one member can win.
The raffle starts at 9:00 PM, and you must be present to win. Only current Clay Hole members are eligible for prizes, but your plus-one can absolutely help earn tickets in your name. We’ll be giving away pottery supplies, Clay Hole apparel, electronics, games, a $100 Amazon gift card, and one mystery card worth anywhere from $5 to $1,000 (that will just depend on which one you draw).
HOW TO EARN RAFFLE TICKETS
No limits to number of tickets or prizes you can earn
There will be a lot of ways to earn raffle tickets between July 17th and the party, and even more ways to earn them once the night begins. Bring every ticket you collect with you on August 7th. There is no limit to how many tickets you can earn, enter, or win with.
BEFORE THE PARTY
Make an offering to Icarus: 1 ticket per offering
Starting July 17th, you may make one offering for every new piece you place on the glazeware drop-off table. Write an anonymous secret, say something kind about someone, or admit that you are awesome, then place your offering in Icarus’s basket.
Attend a regular pottery class: 1 ticket per class
Earn one ticket for every Monday morning class or Monday through Thursday evening class you attend beginning July 17th. Showing up to teach or work a class does not count as attending it.
Attend open studio: 2 tickets per open studio
Earn two tickets for every Friday night, Saturday morning, or Sunday morning open studio you attend beginning July 17th.
Upgrade your membership: 5 tickets
Move from any membership level to a higher level before or during the party and receive five tickets.
Post about The Clay Hole: 1 ticket per platform, per day
Tag @theclayhole in a social media post, reel, TikTok, or story before or during the party. You may earn one ticket per social platform each day. Permanent posts must remain posted, while stories only need to remain live for their normal duration. There is no follower minimum.
Leave a review: up to 6 tickets
Receive three tickets if you have ever left The Clay Hole a Google review, plus another three tickets if you have ever left us a Yelp review. These reviews do not need to be new.
Get caught doing something awesome: Surprise tickets
Our employees may hand out random tickets to members for cool, kind, helpful, creative, or community-minded moments leading up to the party. Employees may also earn surprise tickets, but only Dan will award those directly to employees.
AT THE PARTY
Show up to the party: 1 ticket per person
Every member and plus-one receives one ticket just for coming. Tickets earned by a plus-one must be entered under the sponsoring member’s name unless the guest becomes a member during the party.
Bring a homemade dish or dessert: 5 tickets per dish
Bring a homemade favorite that you are proud to share. Each separate homemade dish or dessert earns five tickets, so ambitious potluckers are welcome to bring more than one.
Bring prepackaged food to share: 1 ticket maximum
Chips, store-bought snacks, fruit trays, and other prepackaged contributions earn one ticket total, regardless of how many you bring. We are heavily incentivizing the good stuff here.
Bring a homemade dish or dessert: 5 tickets per dish
Each homemade dish or dessert you bring to share earns five tickets.
Bring prepackaged food: 1 ticket maximum
Prepackaged food earns one ticket total, no matter how many items you bring.
Participate in Don’t Let It Fail
• Winner: 5 tickets
• Every other participant: 1 ticket
Participate in Claytionary
• Every member of the winning team: 2 tickets
• Every participant on the other team: 1 ticket
Complete the Community Bingo card
• Completed blackout card: 12 tickets
• Non-blackout card: 1 ticket for every completed horizontal or vertical line
• Diagonal lines do not count
• The first person to complete a blackout card also wins the bonsai tree starter kit grand prize
Bring a plus-one who joins The Clay Hole: 5 tickets
The sponsoring member receives five bonus tickets when their guest signs up during the party. Once the guest officially becomes a member, they may begin collecting and entering raffle tickets under their own name.
Win or participate in additional games
Other games and challenges may offer participation tickets, winner tickets, or separate prizes. Ticket amounts will be announced when each game begins.
Be ready for random nonsense
We will be giving away additional tickets throughout the night for surprise challenges, spontaneous moments, random accomplishments, and whatever else Dan decides deserves to be rewarded.
EMPLOYEE ELIGIBILITY
Clay Hole employees are part of this community and may earn tickets through the same eligible activities as members, including bringing food, attending the party, participating in games, posting on social media, leaving reviews, and making offerings to Icarus. Employees do not earn tickets for teaching or working a class, cannot earn membership-upgrade tickets unless they personally hold an eligible membership, and may only receive random employee tickets directly from Dan.

FINE PRINT: The raffle begins at 9:00 PM on August 7th, and winners must be present when their name is drawn. Raffle prizes may only be won by current Clay Hole members. A member’s plus-one may earn raffle tickets, but those tickets must be entered under the sponsoring member’s name. There is no limit to how many tickets a member may enter or how many prizes one member may win. Bring all raffle tickets you have earned before the party. Game and contest prizes are separate from the raffle and may have their own rules. Prize models, colors, sizes, and availability may vary, and comparable substitutions may be made if necessary.

Bring your drinks of choice!
Alcohol is welcome. Keep it classy.
Bring whatever you enjoy drinking, whether that is beer, wine, cocktails, soda, mocktails, or something else entirely. We’ll provide plenty of ice water, but all other drinks are BYOB.
Anyone drinking alcohol must be 21 or older and is responsible for monitoring themselves. Have fun, loosen up, and enjoy the night, but please do not get drunk. We’ll still be surrounded by people, pottery, tools, and equipment, so everyone needs to stay safe, respectful, and fully in control.
Bring your favorite person!
Your plus-one gets to join the fun, too.
Every current member is welcome to bring maximum one guest, so grab your partner, best friend, sibling, or whoever you most want beside you for the night.
Plus-ones must be 18 or older, unless they are already a current minor member attending with their parent. Guests can eat, play games, join contests, help earn raffle tickets, and be part of the whole night, but raffle prizes are reserved for current Clay Hole members. Any tickets earned by your guest must be entered under your name, and they cannot enter or win separately.

Recap: the End of Summer Bash is Friday, August 7th from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. It is completely free, no RSVP is required, and attending will not count as one of your monthly classes. This event is for current members and one guest per member.
Guests must be 18 or older, except current minor members attending with a parent. Alcohol may only be consumed by guests 21 and older, and everyone is responsible for staying safe, respectful, and in control. Bring enough food to share, any serving utensils your dish needs, your own drinks, and every raffle ticket you have earned leading up to the party.
The raffle begins at 9:00 PM, and you must be present to win. Only current Clay Hole members and Clay Hole employees may win raffle prizes. Our employees are an important part of this community too, and Dan will be giving them opportunities to earn raffle tickets leading up to the event. A member’s plus-one may also earn tickets, but those tickets must be entered under the sponsoring member’s name. Games are optional and some may have limited spots, but we may run popular games more than once.
Everyone attending is required to help clean up and reset the studio before leaving.
