Pottery for Grounded Idealists (OCEAn)
If you're a Grounded Idealist—high in Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, and Neuroticism—you’re a dreamer who also believes in putting in the work to bring your vision to life. You’re both imaginative and deeply realistic. Our studio in Draper, Utah was designed with you in mind.
Grounded Idealists (OCEAn) want to make a difference, but you’re not content with just daydreaming about it. You roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty—literally and figuratively. Pottery is the perfect creative channel for people like you: it’s reflective, expressive, and deeply hands-on. You crave structure with flexibility, imagination with purpose, and beauty that means something.
At The Clay Hole, we don’t just offer one-time classes—we offer weekly membership-based pottery sessions that allow you to build something meaningful over time. Our studio fosters personal growth, creative exploration, and real friendships with people who value depth and dedication.
Why pottery works so well for Grounded Idealists
- You thrive with a mix of vision and structure—pottery gives you both, through form and function.
- You seek purpose in your creativity—every piece you make carries intention and personal meaning.
- You want your time to matter—our weekly sessions help you stay grounded in something real.
- You need safe spaces—our community supports vulnerability, effort, and inner growth.
We’re not your typical studio. Our nearly 10,000 sq. ft. workspace is filled with 500+ commercial glazes, 100+ underglazes, massive slab rollers, thousands of tools, and a welcoming energy. Four instructors are present in every class—far more than most studios. Everything is here to help you turn your ideas into tangible, lasting art.
Located right in Draper, Utah, we serve creative people from Salt Lake County and Utah Valley. Whether you’re building a new chapter or returning to creativity after years away, The Clay Hole offers you a grounded place to begin again.
