Build Lifelong Friendships Through Weekly Pottery Classes
Friendships that last a lifetime don’t happen at one-time events or through random encounters. They’re built through shared experience, repeated time together, and the slow trust that forms when people show up for each other over and over again.
That’s exactly what we offer at The Clay Hole in Draper, Utah—weekly pottery classes where genuine, lasting friendships are formed every single day.
The Science of Lifelong Friendship
A groundbreaking study from the University of Kansas found it takes over 200 hours of shared time to form deep, close friendships—the kind that last decades. (KU Research)
That time doesn’t come from brunches once every few months. It comes from weekly rituals. Shared spaces. Side-by-side effort. Pottery is the perfect vehicle for that kind of connection.
Why Pottery Builds Better Friendships
When you sit beside the same people every week, something starts to happen. You see each other’s progress. You cheer each other on. You glaze each other’s mugs. You laugh, struggle, celebrate, and share—all without pressure or forced interaction.
- Same faces every week = relational consistency
- No small talk needed—friendship grows through repetition
- Creative vulnerability brings people closer
- Side-by-side = safe social dynamic for introverts & neurodivergent adults
These aren’t “classmates.” They’re future best friends, roommates, business partners, even chosen family. And it all starts with a bag of clay.

FAQ
Can I really make lifelong friends in a pottery class?
Yes. It happens all the time here. Our members form deep friendships because they show up weekly and build connection slowly—exactly how real friendship works.
Are clay and firing included?
Nope. We bill for those separately so you only pay for what you actually use. It keeps things simple and fair.
