The Anti-Loneliness Studio – Where Real Friendships Happen
Loneliness isn’t just a feeling—it’s a health risk. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, loneliness is now considered a public health crisis in America. It increases the risk of depression, anxiety, and even early death. And yet, so many adults in Utah are silently struggling with it.
At The Clay Hole in Draper, we’ve created a space that goes beyond creativity. It’s what we like to call an anti-loneliness studio—a place where friendships are formed not through awkward mixers or apps, but through shared experience, weekly rituals, and creative flow.
Why Loneliness Is So Hard to Escape
After age 25, making friends becomes harder. You’re out of school, maybe distanced from faith communities, and no longer meeting people in structured ways. According to The New York Times, the key to adult friendship isn’t parties—it’s consistency and time spent together.
That’s exactly what our weekly pottery classes offer. No small talk required. Just clay, community, and comfort—week after week.

The truth is, friendship can’t be forced—but it can be nurtured. At The Clay Hole, it happens all the time.
