Creative Healing for Adults with Religious Trauma in Utah
If you’re deconstructing your beliefs, healing from spiritual abuse, or just beginning to unpack your religious upbringing, you are not alone. The Clay Hole in Draper, Utah offers a safe, grounded space for adults to reconnect with themselves through pottery—no pressure, no preaching, no judgment.
We’re not a therapy group or church replacement. We’re a calm, inclusive creative space where you can explore your identity, your silence, your voice, and your creativity through clay. Many of our members are former or questioning Mormons, ex-evangelicals, and others making peace with complex spiritual journeys.
Why Pottery Helps with Religious Trauma
- Restores agency through creative choice and physical expression
- Calm, low-stimulation space—no “fixing,” no spiritual language
- Connects you to your body in a safe, empowering way
- Gentle instructors who support without judging or pushing
- No dogma, no doctrine—just community and clay
Many members say they’ve never felt safer or freer than they do in our studio. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t even need to talk about it. Just come throw, build, glaze, breathe—and be.
“Pottery was part of my spiritual deconstruction. I walked in grieving and confused. I left every class more grounded, more whole, and more me.”
— Eden S., member since 2023
