Pottery Classes for Utahns Who Don’t Go to Church

If you’re one of many adults in Utah who no longer go to church—or never did—you might be looking for new ways to connect, create, and feel part of something. At The Clay Hole in Draper, we offer pottery classes for Utahns who don’t go to church, built around community, calm, and creativity rather than structure or pressure.

We’re not religious, we’re not political, and we don’t care how you identify or what you believe. We care that you feel welcome, safe, and free to explore clay with kind people who respect your path.

A Different Kind of Gathering

At The Clay Hole, we quietly gather around pottery wheels and slabs of clay—not pulpits. Our classes create an environment of gentle connection, where friendships grow naturally and your presence matters even if you say nothing at all.

  • No sermons, no cliques—just real people and real clay
  • Safe for LGBTQ+ adults, ex-Mormons, neurodivergent individuals
  • Wheel and hand-building offered in every class
  • 4 instructors per class for hands-on support

Many of our members are looking for what church couldn’t give them. You might also relate to our ex-Mormon community page.

Memberships with Weekly Classes

FAQ

I don’t go to church—will I still feel welcome?
Absolutely. In fact, most of our members don’t attend church. We offer an open, inclusive space for adults seeking something different and real.

Is clay or firing included in the membership?
No—members pay separately for clay and firings. This keeps your cost tied to what you create.
