Pottery Classes for Utahns Leaving Conservative Circles
Leaving conservative circles—especially in Utah—can be disorienting, lonely, and emotionally exhausting. Whether you’ve stepped away from a tight-knit religious group, political environment, or rigid community norms, The Clay Hole offers pottery classes for Utahns leaving conservative cultures and seeking freedom, creativity, and connection.
Our studio in Draper is a welcoming space for adults creating a new path for themselves. Here, no one judges where you’ve been. We’re only interested in where you’re going—and who you’re becoming.
A Space Where You Can Be Fully Yourself
Pottery invites you to reconnect with your body, your mind, and your intuition. There are no rules here—just clay, color, and calm. You can work quietly, express emotions through art, and build something meaningful with your own hands.
- No dogma, no expectations—just peaceful creativity
- Inclusive of LGBTQ+, ex-Mormons, and non-traditional thinkers
- Classes include both wheel and hand-building options
- 4 instructors per class for gentle, one-on-one support
If you’re rebuilding after a religious or cultural transition, you may also resonate with our page for ex-Mormons in Utah.

Is clay or firing included?
No—members pay for clay and firings separately so you only pay for what you use.
