Pottery Classes for Grieving Adults in Utah
Grief changes everything—and sometimes, words aren’t enough. At The Clay Hole in Draper, Utah, we offer pottery classes for adults who are grieving and need a peaceful, nonverbal way to process and heal. Here, you can make space for your emotions, your silence, and your hands to lead.
There’s no pressure to talk, share, or explain. Just come as you are. Pottery is meditative, grounding, and deeply therapeutic. Whether you’re mourning a loved one, a relationship, or another major life shift, you’ll find safety, stillness, and gentle connection here.
Why Pottery Helps with Grief
- Hands-on focus gives your mind rest from spiraling thoughts
- Quiet environment—no forced social interaction
- Clay responds to whatever you bring that day—grief, rage, silence, numbness
- Safe, inclusive space where no one expects you to be “okay”
- Built-in weekly routine when everything else feels uncertain
- Instructors guide, but never push
Many of our members have lost parents, partners, children, or parts of themselves. Here, they’ve found a space to be exactly where they are in the grief process—no timelines, no platitudes, no fixing. Just art, community, and breath.
“After my wife passed, I didn’t want to talk to anyone—but I needed to get out of the house. Pottery gave me something to focus on that wasn’t loss. Some nights I cried at the wheel. That was okay, too.”
— Nate H., member since 2023
