Pottery Classes for Deconstruction and Rebuilding in Utah

Whether you're leaving behind a religion, identity, belief system, or way of life, the process of deconstruction can feel messy, emotional, and isolating. At The Clay Hole in Draper, Utah, we offer pottery classes for deconstruction and rebuilding—a quiet, welcoming place to sort through it all with your hands and your heart.

Here, you can reconnect with your creativity, find new rhythms, and start gently forming something new out of what feels broken. You don’t have to explain your journey—we’ve created a space that honors your process exactly as it is.

Pottery as a Path to Healing

Clay teaches you to rebuild slowly, intentionally, and imperfectly. The process is forgiving, physical, and expressive—and that’s why it’s become such a powerful tool for people in transition. You’ll be surrounded by kind adults who get it, including many ex-Mormons, LGBTQ+ folks, and people shifting their worldview and relationships.

  • Zero pressure to talk or share—just show up and create
  • Hand-building and wheel options available in every class
  • 4 instructors per class for hands-on, supportive guidance
  • A culture of kindness, autonomy, and non-judgment

You may also resonate with our page for ex-Mormons in Utah, where we dive deeper into the intersection of creative healing and personal liberation.
