Creative Outlet for Burned Out Tech Workers in Utah

If you spend your days debugging, deploying, and surviving back-to-back meetings, you’re not alone. At The Clay Hole in Draper, Utah, we see a growing number of burned-out tech professionals looking for something offline, low-pressure, and real. That’s where pottery comes in.

Pottery is the ultimate creative reset: no screens, no Slack, no deadlines—just your hands, the clay, and the chance to make something with zero KPIs attached. Whether you're coding all day or just craving something physical after years behind a desk, we’ve got the space and tools ready for you.

Why Tech Professionals Are Turning to Pottery

  • No performance pressure—just exploration and play
  • Grounding, hands-on work after long days in your head
  • Classes are quiet, focused, and low-stim—no small talk required
  • Inclusive community of other creative adults (many of them in tech!)
  • Location right off I-15—easy access from Silicon Slopes and Salt Lake
  • Founded by Dan Pearce, a professional artist who understands burnout firsthand

Many of our members work in dev, UI/UX, systems architecture, QA, product, or support. They come here to decompress, reset, and rediscover creativity outside of Jira tickets. You’re welcome here—burnout and all.

“After 10 years in the tech grind, I needed something real. Pottery helps me remember I’m a person—not just a resource. The Clay Hole is where I finally exhale.”
— Aaron F., full-stack dev & member since 2023
