In a Swipe-Left World, Pottery Lets You Connect at a Human Pace
Modern life moves fast. Too fast. Conversations happen in DMs. Friendships are reduced to emojis. And if something doesn’t click instantly, we’re trained to swipe left and keep scrolling. But human connection doesn’t work like that—not really.
At The Clay Hole in Draper, we believe in slowing things down. Our weekly membership-based pottery classes offer a space where connection grows the way it was always meant to: gently, creatively, and over time.
Pottery Doesn’t Rush You
There’s no algorithm at the wheel here. No need to impress. No need to decide in three seconds if you’re compatible. Just clay, glazes, laughter, and shared space with other adults who are showing up for something real.
- You’ll see the same people every week—no pressure to “network”
- The conversation is natural because you’re doing something together
- You connect through time, presence, and shared creativity
Why The Clay Hole Works for Real Connection
- Weekly classes build routine and reliability
- A warm, 10,000 sq. ft. studio with couches, snacks, and good vibes
- 500+ glazes, 100+ underglazes, and all the tools you’ll ever need
- Four instructors in every class to support all skill levels
- Run by Dan Pearce, who attends every single session
There’s no instant gratification here—just real people, real time, and real connection. The kind that lasts.

FAQs
I’m too tired to meet new people.
Exactly why this works. You don’t have to “meet” anyone. You just show up, sit down, and do pottery. The rest happens gently, over time.
What if I’m not artistic?
Perfect. Most members are total beginners. Our instructors walk you through everything, and no one’s here to judge.
Is clay included?
Clay and firings are sold separately based on what you use. Tools, instruction, and access to all glazes are included in your membership.
