ADHD Therapy in Utah: Hands-On Pottery for Adults

Not every adult with ADHD wants talk therapy. And not every solution needs to come in the form of worksheets, routines, or prescriptions. For many, pottery is therapy. At The Clay Hole in Draper, we offer hands-on ADHD support through weekly pottery classes designed to calm, regulate, and engage the ADHD brain in ways that feel natural and healing.

You don’t have to “fix” yourself here. You just have to show up, work with your hands, and breathe. Clay will meet you where you are.

Pottery as a Therapeutic ADHD Outlet

Pottery checks many of the boxes that ADHD adults seek in therapy-like environments: it’s quiet, grounding, nonverbal, and sensory-rich. According to CHADD, adults with ADHD benefit from hands-on, goal-oriented activities that provide structure without strict control.

At The Clay Hole, you’ll find a setting that encourages both focus and freedom. We’ve designed our studio with neurodivergent needs in mind—from lighting and layout to pacing and expectations.

  • Sensory-friendly environment with no overstimulation
  • Slow, calming instruction—no information overload
  • Repetitive, meditative motions that promote regulation
  • A physical outlet for emotional processing and stress

The National Library of Medicine also highlights how clay work can be a form of art therapy that supports mental well-being and executive function.

What You Can Expect from a Class

Each pottery class runs for 3.5 hours. You’ll choose a time that works for your rhythm and energy levels. Our monthly membership includes one class per week at any of the following times:

  • Monday Morning: 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Monday–Friday Evenings: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

We don’t require contracts or long-term commitments. The goal is simple: give you a reliable, grounding place to create and breathe each week.

FAQ

Do I need to talk or explain my ADHD to participate?
Nope. Many members just come in, put their headphones on, and quietly create. You don’t need to mask or perform here.

Are clay and firings included?
They’re billed separately, so you only pay for what you use. That flexibility helps many neurodivergent adults feel more in control of their experience.
