paper-template-faceted-tree-luminary
The Faceted Tree Luminary Paper Template

An eight-sided Christmas tree that glows through columns of stars and diamonds, with a slab star on top. One column of stars or diamonds on each of the eight facets, shrinking as the tree narrows, so the glow runs right up to the slab star on top. The tree lifts off its base plate to light it. I'd go with an LED tealight, though two slots by the star let a real flame breathe.

Finished: 11 1/2 in tall to the star, 5 1/2 in across at the foot at 12 percent shrinkage.

In the pack

4 template sheets, every piece whole at exact size, with a 1 inch check square on each

The pieces: Door facet (cut 1), Star facet (cut 4), Diamond facet (cut 3), Star (cut 1), Cap (cut 1), Base plate (cut 1)

One page on printing, rolling and the seam method

Assembly in 20 numbered steps, then drying, glazing and what goes wrong

A size table at 10, 12 and 14 percent shrinkage

A page on the tealight, LED or real, with a drawing of how the air moves through the tree

Free for members, logged in to a Clay Hole account. $12 for everyone else.
